Surfing the buzz generated by announcement multi-tablet Amazon Thursday, Kobo eReader manufacturer unveiled its first tablet Android, the Arc of Kobo. The Tablet is one of the four products advertised by Kobo, including Mini Kobo, the lightest and smallest complete eReader, the Kobo Glo, which uses CoverLight to allow users to read in the comfort of day and night and the Kobo Touch which is first eReader to touchscreen in the industry. With its 7-inch screen and the tag price of $199.99 for 8 GB of storage and $ 249.99 for 16 GB, the Arc of Kobo was designed to go against the new crop of low-priced 7-inch Android tablets like the ASUS built Google Nexus 7 ($199.00 for 8 GB and $249.00 for 16 GB) and introduces just entry-level Amazon Kindle Fire 2 for $159 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HD. The latter offers a 7 inch screen of 1280 x 800 HD and 16 GB of storage for $199.
The Kobo Arc comes installed with Android 4.0 with a Kobo developed skin called tapestries top running. A 1.3 megapixel camera is on board, and speakers facing the front. Unlike the Amazon Kindle Fire devices, Google applications are available on the Kobo Arc, including the Google game store. Pre-installed on the Tablet, it is Facebook, Twitter, Skype and PressReader. The latter is an application that gives you 2,000 newspapers full-content of 95 countries. Launch in November, the Arc of Kobo will be available in black and white, blue and purple SnapBacks that can be interchanged.
This is not the end of the competition of the Tablet 7 inch as next month, Apple is expected to introduce the Apple iPad mini.
